Its southern region lies in the heart of Arizona’s famed Mogollon Rim offering some of the most scenic breathtaking views dominated by timbered mountains and numerous canyons. For example, Promontory Butte, at almost 8000 feet of elevation, is surrounded with hundred-mile views. Meandering through this unit’s central region you will find the cedar juniper belt which eventually travels down to its lower elevations of the high grasslands, located in the northern part of the boundary.
